Richard was referred to our work adjustment program at Eliza Jennings Senior Care Network by the Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation. He worked closely with Cornucopia's Case Manager, Cheryl Sims, to sharpen his work skills, to improve his work speed and to try out some new kinds of jobs. After completing his work adjustment and training program there, Richard began working with Cornucopia Employment Specialist, Ariana Ranson, to find job opportunities in the community. Richard had some experience working at a library so they began their search there.
He wanted to stay in library services as he likes the challenge and academic environment. After polishing up Richard's resume and interviewing skills they approached several potential employers. Following those interviews Richard was offered a job at Beachwood Public Library. His duties there include unloading the drop-off bins, and retrieving and shelving books. He also works at the Cleveland Heights Public Library, where he greets patrons. Richard has been in his position at the Beachwood Public Library for over a year. Richard is well liked by his peers and he always has time to help the patrons and answer their questions. Richard's outgoing personality was an asset in his job search and in his job. Well done Richard!
