Richard
Eliza Jennings
Richard stocking books at the Beachwood Pulic Library

Richard was referred to our work adjustment program at Eliza Jennings Senior Care
Network by the Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation. He worked closely with
Cornucopia’s Case Manager, Cheryl Sims, to sharpen his work skills, to improve his
work speed and to try out some new kinds of jobs. After completing his work
adjustment and training program there, Richard began working with Cornucopia
Employment Specialist, Ariana Ranson, to find job opportunities in the community.
Richard had some experience working at a library so they began their search there.
He wanted to stay in library services as he likes the challenge and academic
environment. After polishing up Richard’s resume and interviewing skills they
approached several potential employers. Following those interviews Richard was
offered a job at Beachwood Public Library. His duties there include unloading the
drop-off bins, and retrieving and shelving books. He also works at the Cleveland
Heights Public Library, where he greets patrons. Richard has been in his position
at the Beachwood Public Library for over a year. Richard is well-liked by his peers
and he always has time to help the patrons and answer their questions. Richard’s
outgoing personality was an asset in his job search and in his job. Well done Richard!

Cornucopia Employment Specialist, Jerry Karlin, to find a job in the community.
Glenn put in applications at several places and, following a positive interview, was offered a job
as a day porter by Chartwell Management Company at the historic Old Arcade in Cleveland.
Glenn has a variety of responsibilities in this position including maintaining the cleanliness
and neat appearance of all the tables and chairs in the Arcade lobby and food court areas.

and returns them to the restaurant counters. He is also responsible for the cleanliness of the
restrooms as well as keeping them fully supplied.

Wylean was referred to Cornucopia’s Target program by the Bureau of Vocational
Rehabilitation to fine tune her cashiering speed and accuracy, and to sharpen
her customer service skills. While at Target, she focused her training with

Following a successful three-month training period, Wylean worked with

Natalie
Nature's Bin
Natalie working at Oately

Natalie was referred to Nature’s Bin by the County Board of MR/DD. After completing a
two week assessment, Natalie began a work adjustment training program with Cornucopia
Case Manager, Sandy Gross. Much of Natalie’s work centered on packaging products for the
grocery and produce depart¬ments. She learned to package products, heat seal, label, and
stock. If there was difficulty in doing any of the tasks Natalie would work on the skill at
home with her mother and managed to master every step that was difficult for her.
Bagging groceries for customers was Natalie’s favorite job. She enjoys people, and her
engag¬ing personality made her a welcome addition to every department. Natalie always had a
smile on her face and never seemed to have a bad day.

After seven months of training, Natalie began work in a CCBMR/DD enclave at Oatey, s
company that manufactures products for the plumbing industry. Natalie packages parts into
boxes and uses a tape gun to seal them.

Natalie is a high energy person! Besides her work at Oatey, she works three evenings a week
at Burger King, and helps with a paper route. Natalie also plays keyboard with
her family’s band. Well done Natalie!
